Rick Ross recently stopped by Complex for an extensive interview about his business endeavors and goals within music for 2021. Throughout the conversation Rozay spoke about his upcoming album, Richer Than I Ever Been, which is reportedly within the final stages of release.
“My album will be out this summer, and it’s going to be exciting. I really pushed the envelope.” Rick Ross explained.
Ross also provided an update on the long-awaited collaboration LP with Drake, which their respective fanbases have been eagerly awaiting.
“Well, me and Drizzy, we may have spoken within the last 48 hours. But it’s only so much I can say other than: this is the closest or the realest he’s ever been. He’s wrapping up his project and I’m in the same space. So the timing and everything is aligning. It’s something that we really want to give to the streets, on some real shit. So, it’s looking real solid. That’s the most I can say.”
The hype for the collaboration follows Rick Ross’ interview with MSL Media’s MiAsia Symone on her show back in April. During the interview, Ross assured the audience that there is “serious consideration” from him and Drizzy about working together for an entire album. The pair have already released a ton of collabs since 2009, including the recent “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” of Drake’s Scary Hours 2.
Given Ross’ and Drake’s goals to release their solo projects throughout the summer, it might be a safe bet to assume this collaborative project would drop towards the end of the season, or perhaps in time for back to school. Hopefully fans will be able to get their hands on Richer Than I Ever Been and Drake’s Certified Lover Boy in the near future.
