HIM Status: Drake’s Triple Album Drop Has Hidden Meaning

TLDR: Drake just dropped three albums at once, and if you line them up the right way, there might be a little more going on — the type of move that keeps him looking like him.

At first it just looked like three albums at once. Then you notice the titles — Habibti, ICEMAN, Maid of Honour — and how neatly they line up to spell H.I.M. Whether that was the plan or not, and it probably was, Drake isn’t exactly shying away from the idea that he’s him right now.

In today’s slang, “HIM” isn’t subtle. It’s about being undeniable, untouchable, the one everyone has to measure themselves against. Whether you take it as “His Imperial Majesty” or just shorthand for being that guy, the message behind this rollout comes through. And knowing Drake’s history with symbolism, it’s hard to ignore how cleanly the three albums line up: Habibti, ICEMAN, Maid of Honour, H.I.M. This is the same artist who’s long played with layered meaning in his releases, from timestamp records tied to specific moments to visuals and lyrics that double as responses to critics.

But the music is only part of it. The rollout itself has been just as loud. From freezing the CN Tower, a controlled explosion in North York, multiple ICEMAN livestream episodes, a giant ice block in Toronto revealing the release date, and a massive fireworks display, it’s clear this wasn’t a typical album drop. Add in the sheer volume — three full-length projects, dozens of producers, and a wave of visuals landing within hours — and it starts to feel like something bigger than just a release.

Across the albums, Drake taps collaborators like 21 Savage, Future, Molly Santana, Central Cee, and Sexyy Red, while leaning heavily on a wide production base that includes key Canadian names like Noah “40” Shebib, Boi-1da, London Cyr, and more. Even amid criticism, debate, and lingering fallout from his well-documented feuds, the numbers and visibility tell their own story.

However you take it, moments like this are why people keep saying it about the Boy. Whether you like it or not, Drake is still HIM.

Drake has released a ton of new videos in support of the albums including 12 for ICEMAN and two for Habibti. Click here to check them out.
