Noah23 and Fresh Kills Preview Tuff Racket with “Jazz Man” Video

TLDR: Noah23 and Fresh Kils have released the video for “Jazz Man,” the latest preview of their collaborative album Tuff Racket, arriving July 31 via Hand’Solo Records.

Noah23 and Fresh Kils continue building anticipation for their collaborative album, Tuff Racket, with the release of the new video for “Jazz Man.”

Equal parts cosmic cipher and jazz-soaked head trip, “Jazz Man” feels like the meeting point between Noah23’s endlessly inventive lyricism and Fresh Kils’ warm, groove-driven production. The single offers another glimpse into Tuff Racket, due July 31 via Hand’Solo Records, and finds two of Canada’s most adventurous underground artists operating comfortably outside convention.

Noah23 has always occupied a singular lane in hip-hop. His verses bounce effortlessly between surreal imagery, esoteric philosophy, science fiction and streetwise humour, creating a stream of consciousness that somehow remains remarkably focused. On “Jazz Man,” he slips between references to spaceships, alchemy, time travel and primordial soup without ever sounding forced, delivering bars that reward repeat listens.

Fresh Kils provides the perfect backdrop. His production leans into dusty jazz textures while maintaining enough knock to keep the record rooted firmly in hip-hop. The chemistry between producer and MC never feels manufactured; instead, it plays like two seasoned collaborators challenging each other to push further into left field.

Directed by Analog Child, the video arrives alongside the single as another piece of the Tuff Racket rollout. Trumpet contributions from Peter Scherzinger, interpreted by Sensi Boy, add another musical layer, while Damian D and Bobby Truex appear in the visual.

Few Canadian rappers have cultivated a catalogue as fearless as Noah23. Since emerging from Guelph’s influential Plague Language collective, he’s collaborated with everyone from Kool Keith, Killah Priest and Lil B to Myka 9, Ceschi and $uicideBoy$, building a career defined by constant experimentation rather than commercial trends. Fresh Kils shares that same adventurous spirit, making Tuff Racket feel like a collaboration years in the making.

“Jazz Man” is available now ahead of the July 31 release of Tuff Racket. You can stream the single now on various digital streaming platforms.
