HipHopCanada Celebrates 21st Anniversary with New Website

We're thrilled to present the seventh version of our flagship platform HipHopCanada.com, along with a fresh look for our social media presence.

Canada’s longest running hip-hop platform, HipHopCanada, is celebrating it’s 21st anniversary and over two decades of supporting the Canadian scene with a fresh new facelift.

After celebrating 21 years of operation on Jan. 27, 2021, the award-winning HipHopCanada has officially launched the latest version of its flagship platform, HipHopCanada.com, which has covered Canadian hip-hop culture regularly since its inception.

“We couldn’t be prouder to celebrate 21 years of HipHopCanada, and the level of work our team has put in to support the evolving Canadian scene,” said HipHopCanada founder and co-president, Jesse Plunkett.

“We’ve been fortunate enough to have loyal followers and supporters since the beginning, and we felt strongly about making sure we used the opportunity to celebrate such a huge milestone by rolling out some of the new things we have in store. It was especially important for us to make it clear—to our followers, our team, and the Canadian hip-hop community at large—that we’re looking to really take things to another level. We’re more motivated than we’ve ever been to support the Canadian scene, and we have a lot of great ideas to keep things fun and engaging.”

The new look is the seventh version of the website to be launched by the company, and is one of several exciting new changes HipHopCanada is implementing this year.

“Hitting 21 years has been a journey, I’m just blessed that we made it this far,” said HipHopCanada co-president Maurice Laurin.

“The digital media landscape has shifted quite a bit since we first started, but the goal has always been to uplift and support hip-hop culture. I’m confident that we have accomplished that and will continue to do so. We look forward to releasing new initiatives from HipHopCanada in 2021.”

Along with a new design for the website, HipHopCanada is rolling out an updated and modernized design for its social media presence, and has a ton of great content lined up to celebrate ’20 completed Years of HipHopCanada’ throughout the year. HipHopCanada’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts have all been given an updated look and feel, and launching a new YouTube channel is also in the works.
