A couple of weeks back, Chris Brown delivered a sweet gift for his fans!
The R&B singer released the deluxe edition of his twelfth studio album BROWN. Dubbing it The Chocolate Edition, the project features 10 new tracks, including collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, Tyga and Wizkid.
The original version, BROWN, debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart and No. 7 on the Billboard 200. The title is somewhat of a double entendre, referencing both the artist’s surname and his mantra; Break Rules Only When Necessary. Both versions are packed with slow-burning R&B tracks that create the perfect vibe for late-night drives or a cozy night in. A few fan favourites include the Tyga and Ty Dolla $ign-assisted “Just The Bro,” and “Man On A Mission” featuring Wizkid, whose smooth collaboration seamlessly merges afrobeats with R&B.
In addition to the album release, the music video for “It Depends” and “Obvious” also premiered on the same day.
Just two months ago, Chris Brown and Usher jointly announced The R&B Tour (Raymond & Brown), a North American stadium tour spanning more than 40 dates. The tour kicks off on Friday, June 26, at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. The only Canadian stop is in Toronto, where the duo will perform at Rogers Stadium on August 11 and 12.
Last year, Breezy marked a major career milestone, celebrating 20 years in music with his own stadium tour, Breezy Bowl XX. The tour became the highest-grossing tour by a solo Black American male artist, generating nearly $300 million and attracting 2 million fans across North America, Europe, and the UK.
Adding to his list of career achievements, the singer holds the record for the most Hot 100 entries by an R&B artist in Billboard history, while ranking in the top 10 among all artists for RIAA multi-Platinum certifications.
