Kapacity Hosts Canada vs Switzerland Watch Party in Ottawa

TLDR: Ottawa soccer fans are invited to a Kapacity Entertainment-hosted Canada vs Switzerland World Cup watch party at Heart & Crown featuring music from DJ Eazy El Dee and prize giveaways.

Soccer supporters in Ottawa will have a chance to cheer on Team Canada together this week as the Heart & Crown hosts a Canada vs Switzerland Courtyard Watch Party at its ByWard Market location.

Taking place Wednesday, June 24, the event will be held at the Heart & Crown, 67 Clarence Street, with festivities beginning ahead of the match and continuing throughout the afternoon. The Canadian men’s national team is scheduled to face Switzerland, with kickoff set for 3 p.m.

Canada enters its final Group B match against Switzerland in a strong position after opening with a 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina and a dominant 6-0 win over Qatar, highlighted by a hat trick from Ottawa’s own Jonathan David.

The event promises to go ahead rain or shine, giving fans a dedicated gathering spot to watch the action while celebrating Canada’s growing presence on the international soccer stage.

Music will also be part of the experience, with DJ Eazy El Dee providing entertainment beginning at 2 p.m., as well as during halftime and after the match. The watch party will be hosted by Mike Mikkelsen, co-founder of Kapacity Entertainment, and a staple in Ottawa’s budding music scene.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the pre-match atmosphere, take part in prize opportunities and secure a good spot before Canada takes on Switzerland in what promises to be an exciting international matchup.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to win prizes, including world-class soccer gear from NRML, one of Ottawa’s best-known retailers for footwear and apparel. The event is presented with support from several local brands and organizations, including HipHopCanada, our friends at CapCityHipHop, NRML and Heart & Crown.

With Canada drawing increased attention on the global soccer stage, community watch parties have become a popular way for fans to come together and support the national team. Mikkelsen has hosted an event for each of Canada’s World Cup matches so far, along with several matches featuring other nations.

The combination of live match viewing, music, giveaways and a central downtown location is expected to make the Courtyard Watch Party a lively destination for soccer supporters looking to take in Canada’s biggest test of the tournament to date.
