Watch: Episode 5 of the LUV Concert Series features budding Toronto star Liyah

After blessing the stage during Episode 2 with Tia Bank$, Toronto’s Liyah returns to the LUV Concert Series stage for a performance of her own.

Falling in love with music at age 5, by 15 Liyah had fully invested herself in her church and became an integral part of her church choir. It was the beginning of what is making for a highly promising career which already features a ton of big records.

“Music is how I express all different types of emotions sometimes music can heal,” explained the budding star. “I love singing in the church so much and being on stage that I began to consider writing and singing my own songs.”

Liyah’s performance—which also features the return of DJ Natty B to the LUV Concert Series stage—features five songs off her popular 2021 EP, Forevaliyah, including fan favourites, “Slide” and “Always There.” “Slide” has over 290K streams on just Spotify alone, while “Always There” is closing in on 600K on the platform. Liyah also performs the songs “What Would You Do,” “Believe Me,” and “Good Lovin.”

Produced by More Music Management in partnership with HipHopCanada Digital Inc., the LUV Concert Series will feature a new episode every Sunday and Wednesday up until the finale. The series kicked off with Toronto’s Nadia Stone and has also featured episodes showcasing Tia Bank$, Benita and DijahSB. The rest of the inaugural LUV Concert Series lineup includes LolaBunz on May 8, and Naya Ali on May 11. The last artist in the lineup, previous 3x JUNO-nominee Melanie Durrant, will be presented on May 18 just after the JUNO Week 2022 festivities.

Stay tuned to HipHopCanada for the latest episode of the LUV Concert Series, or head to the official LUV Concert Series website. The LUV Concert Series is sponsored in part by FACTOR, Canada’s Private Radio Broadcasters, and Ontario Creates.
