Memphis rapper Moneybagg Yo has social media buzzing after sharing a screenshot of a text message exchange between himself and Kanye West.
The text message appears to confirm that DONDA 2 is actively in the works.
“I got to lock in with you on Donda 2,” Ye wrote in a message, while seemingly also addressing another track in the works.
At the beginning of the year, former G.O.O.D. Music COO and current SVP of A&R at Universal Music Group, Steven Victor, told Complex that Kanye was already back in the studio preparing for his next project.
“Ye has started working on his new masterpiece DONDA 2,” he proclaimed.
The exchange between Moneybagg Yo and Ye could suggest that DONDA 2—Ye’s first ever sequel album—could arrive sooner than many people had originally expected.
