Up-and-coming Philly renaissance man (MC, fashion model, skateboarder) Javan makes his New Noise debut with “Maybelline,” on which he sings and raps over a bubbly, bass-heavy beat produced by Hotboyhza.
Premiering alongside the audio is the official “Maybelline” music video, available for viewing below. You can find the single on various digital streaming outlets including Apple Music and Spotify.
“Maybelline” is the latest project to drop from the Philadelphia virtuoso. It follows new music with Working on Dying’s Oogie Mane & Young Forza, as well his stunning 13-track debut Wasted Youth. Over the past few years, Javan’s profile has expanded rapidly, walking for NYFW, skateboarding for various streetwear brands, and modeling for the likes of Converse and K-Swiss. Selected for Urban Outfitters Class of 2017 as one of sixteen “fresh faces challenging the status quo,” Javan had this to say on his passions:
“I would say I’m a person who likes to stay busy. If I’m not skateboarding, I’m making music. If I’m not making music, I’m skateboarding. If I’m not doing that, I’m doing something else creative like modeling or taking pictures myself or just painting. I always have to stay creative.”
College fans can catch Javan in action this fall as he wraps up his Already Dead tour, hitting universities across North America.
New Noise is Dim Mak’s new music discovery imprint that focuses on cutting edge sounds from burgeoning artists across the genre spectrum. New Noise originally got its start as a compilation series highlighting fresh faces handpicked by Steve Aoki and the Dim Mak crew.
Since then, the platform has evolved into a bi-weekly, free-download model based on singles.
New Noise’s current incarnation is also copyright free, which allows the budding community of Twitch gamers and amateur YouTube creators to use New Noise music in their videos and live streams without the need to purchase or pay fees, all in exchange for linking back to the artists and their music.
