Introducing Toronto artist Heavy Huddy: “First Class Funk” & “Push Back”

He’s been part of the Canadian scene for years, but only just recently doubled down on his aspirations of being a full-time artist himself. Heavy Huddy, or Heavy Hudson to some, has released two official singles this year after making his official debut back in April (with a third banger on the way).

Largely known for his work behind the scenes with award-winning Toronto artist, Gangis Khan (aka Camoflauge), Heavy Huddy has been a mountain of support for countless Canadian artists, but is now focusing on breaking out on his own. He actually appeared on some Camo records several years ago—including the popular “She Wan Di Wuk” single which received video support—but had never really made an effort to get his own name out as an artist until just recently.

Huddy has continued to work with Camo, appearing with JUNO winner JRDN on the song “Allegations” in 2021, and more recently appearing again with JRDN on Camo’s “Lovers Town” which dropped this past March. Just a few weeks after that, Huddy made his official solo debut with “First Class Funk,” and then followed that up in July with the banger, “Push Back.” Both songs were produced by Inertia Media.

“‘Push Back’ is a little bit of everything in one song,” said Huddy of the release. “Good vibes… love… and living life to to the fullest.”

Along with more new singles, Huddy has confirmed that he has an EP in the works which can be expected by the end of the year, or early next year. A more concrete release date should be available later this year, as well as a new video.

You can find “First Class Funk” and “Push Back” on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms via Hudson Media.

Along with working on new music, Huddy is also focusing on building the Ghost Drops cannabis brand which he’s been connected to for quite some time as an official rep for Ontario. Find out more at GhostDrops.com.
