Drake enlists Lil Baby & Rick Ross for Scary Hours 2 & releases the “What’s Next” video

As anticipation continues to build for the Certified Lover Boy album, Drake fans have something fresh to get excited about.

The new Scary Hours 2 EP officially hit digital streaming platforms today at midnight, but social media has already been buzzing about the release since it was announced through Instagram late Wednesday.

The last time Drake released a “Scary Hours” pack, Jan. 2018, it produced his biggest hit to date, “God’s Plan,” which also appeared on his fifth studio album, Scorpion. It’s unclear if any of the tracks released today will also find a home on CLB. Certified Lover Boy was originally slated for a Jan. 2021 release, but was postponed due to some unforeseen delays. It’s still expected to come out sometime this year. Drake spoke on the decision to postpone the release via an Instagram story update back in January:

“I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” wrote Drake.

“I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”

Production on Scary Hours 2 was handled by 40, Cardo, Dez Wright, OVO Noel and Supah Mario.

Along with new music, Drake also released a new video for the song “What’s Next,” which was directed by Theo Skudra.

To coincide with the release of Scary Hours 2, Drake also announced the return of OVO Sound Radio, as well as a new initiative on Sirius XM, SOUND 42.

“Going live tonight at 10:30pm EST with the return of OVO Sound Radio and the launch of our 24 hour station SOUND 42 a new experience on Sirius XM 🧨 link in bio to listen.”

You can find Scary Hours II on various digital streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify via OVO Sound.
