Toronto’s Speng drops videos for “Whop” & “Pollies” in support of Raised by Wolves project

Speng in the video for Pollies directed by Kavin Roberts.

These days, Toronto is increasingly becoming known for coining slang and setting trends that have been influential around the world. Talented up-and-comers like Speng continue to push the local sound forward, creating unique lanes for themselves in order to stand out from the thousands of other artists looking to next things to the next level.

As the hook from Speng’s single “Whop” explains, the word ‘whop’ has several different meanings within northern urban culture. It ranges from referring to a sale, to referring to having sex with someone.

The record was produced by Trizzlam and the video was directed by The Knemesis for Goldmine Media 1. “Whop” will be featured on Speng’s upcoming project Raised By Wolves.

Along with “Whop,” Speng is also promoting his video for “Pollies.” The song features fellow Toronto up-and-comer Whosrome, and the video was directed by Kavin Roberts.

Raised By Wolves will drop third quarter of 2019. Along with Trizzlam, the project will feature production by BricksDaMane, Y-Not, and more.

“Whop” and “Pollies” are available on Spotify and other digital streaming platforms.
