Melanie Durrant enlists The Knemesis to direct the “Bait and Switch” video

Toronto recording Melanie Durrant has premiered a catchy and colourful new video in support of her latest project. The “Goodbye” singer teamed up with acclaimed Toronto director The Knemesis to visualize the bass-heavy “Bait and Switch,” which was produced by MoJointz and Ced Solo, and features cuts by DJ Grouch. The track is an ode to the ups-and-downs and struggles within relationships.

“Everyone has their limits and many people have been in this kind of situation,” explained Durrant. “My goal was to write music people can relate to.”

“Bait and Switch” is the second video Durrant has released in 2021 and follows the visual for “Listen” which premiered in April. The video features Durrant on a surprise valentine dinner with her significant other. As the two enjoy wine and a romantic candlelit meal, Durrant’s bae seems to be more interested in his phone than focusing on his woman. As the video builds, Durrant continues to get more frustrated until he picks up one call too many, forcing her to lose her cool. The video ends with an unexpected splash, but you will have to watch it to see what happens!

Both songs can be found on Durrant’s third studio album, Where I’m At, which was released on May 7. The album encompasses themes of narcissistic abuse, personality disorders and the way it affects the mind. Every track on Where I’m At has different mindsets, but keeps true to the album’s overall theme.

You can find “Bait and Switch” and Where I’m At on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms via Melo-D’s Inc.
