Ottawa artist Black Iri$h celebrated his birthday yesterday with the release of his project debut, Gemini Season.
“I initially wanted to release a tape on Saint Patrick’s Day, but I realized that my city area code and birthday are the same, 6.13, so I felt, ‘what better way to celebrate than to drop a tape on my birthday?’”
The tape runs seven-tracks long and features fellow Ottawa artists ADUB, BTG Henchman, Only OG and Xuave, who previously worked with Iri$h on the viral hit “Auston Matthews.”
“I have three videos in the works for this project. Back It Up, Nascar, which is almost done, and Mars which will be 100% cartoon and a favorite for those that are Tesla and Elon Musk fans like myself.”
You can catch Black Iri$h live in Ottawa at RBC Bluesfest on Friday, July at 6:30 p.m. when he’ll be opening for Beck.
