Xzibit Releases Part 2 of “Been A Long Time” Single

TLDR: Coming ahead of his KINGMAKER album, Xzibit continues his comeback with part two of his “Been a Long Time” single.

Having made an explosive return to the game earlier this month with “Play This At My Funeral,” legendary hip-hop icon Xzibit continues to deliver the goods on Conor McGregor’s new label Greenback Records. Coming ahead of his forthcoming album, KINGMAKER, Xzibit returns with the second single, “Been A Long Time Pt. 2” (featuring Jenn Em), out today.

As the title suggests, this is Pt. 2 of Xzibit’s classic track “Been A Long Time” which featured the late Nate Dogg, and appeared on his Platinum-selling seminal album Restless produced by Dr. Dre back in 2000.

With synergistic timing, “Been A Long Time Pt. 2” sees X continue his sharp and focused return to the scene, as fans are treated to bar-upon-bar of no-nonsense, unapologetic rap that touches on relationship ups and downs, life goals, and his take on current cultural issues. Cutting edge production duties come courtesy of the Multi-Platinum and 3-time Grammy Winning beatmaker Dem Jointz (whose credits include Kanye West, Rihanna and Anderson .Paak). This time around, a soulful hook delivered by vocalist Jenn Em adds a melodic edge to X’s bars of self-reflection.

A household name with millions of records sold, Xzibit is widely known for his work with Dr Dre in the 90s, who produced X’s platinum solo album Restless, expanding Xzibit’s fanbase far beyond the underground. It spawned the unforgettable 2001 single “X,” a worldwide smash hit synonymous with the MC. He’s also widely known within the culture as the face of MTV’s Pimp My Ride, as well as his illustrious big screen appearances and cultural TV staples such as Family Guy, CSI Miami, Hawaii 5-0, MTV Cribs and American Dad.

On making Xzibit his first signing on Greenback Records, Conor McGregor proudly states, “Welcoming Xzibit to Greenback Records and helping to continue his legacy is an honour for me. When we set out to make our first signings Xzibit’s name was there from the start. This is a man who kept true to the culture of Hip Hop but also helped it to evolve. We are excited to show the world the evolution of Xzibit, it’s all about KINGMAKER.”

The forthcoming album KINGMAKER is the culmination of Xzibit’s genre-leading experience and 12 years of writing since his 2012 studio album, Napalm. Executive produced by himself, Xzibit has brought his wealth of experience as one of the most important voices in hip hop evidently to light, with mature and insightful writing showing considerable growth as an artist and a human while remaining true to the artist he has always been.

With more singles, music videos and content to come via Greenback Records, we’re witnessing the return of a certified hip-hop giant. You can find “Been A Long Time Pt. 2” on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms.
