Still Easty: Tha Eastsidaz Return With Gritty New EP and 3-in 1 Video

Long Beach legends Tha Eastsidaz drop their new EP, Still Easty, via Death Row Records and gamma, along with a gritty joint music video featuring “Hood Been Good,” “Rag Tied,” and “Groove Bacc.”

Long Beach legends Big Tray Deee and Goldie Loc, who together form Tha Eastsidaz, are back in the spotlight with their highly-anticipated new EP, Still Easty. After a decade-long hiatus, this marks the duo’s return under Snoop Dogg’s Death Row Records, a label that’s been revived to reestablish West Coast dominance. Still Easty dropped today along with a joint video for three of the EP’s hardest-hitting tracks: “Hood Been Good,” “Rag Tied,” and “Groove Bacc.” The 1997-born duo proves that they’re still as resilient as ever, carrying the gritty essence of Long Beach’s street tales into the new generation.

In February 2022, Tray Deee and Goldie Loc hinted at an upcoming project, but news fell silent until last week’s surprise announcement. Snoop Dogg himself features on five of the EP’s seven tracks, lending his legendary touch to bring Still Easty home. This collaboration speaks volumes to Snoop’s ongoing loyalty to the Death Row family. His influence, plus the production of West Coast icons like Amplified, DJ Battlecat, Jansport J, Jelly Roll (not the country artist), Quazedelic, Rick Rock, and Zion Harris, gives the project a seamless blend of old-school grit and new-school flair.

Additional appearances from Butch Cassidy and October London on Still Easty bolster the EP’s star-studded ensemble, bringing that unmistakable California heat back to the forefront. Tha Eastsidaz prove they can still bring the ruckus, and the release of their joint music video channels the raw vibe they’ve perfected for decades. It’s clear: they haven’t missed a beat since their last release, 2014’s That’s My Work 4 mixtape.

In a time where hip-hop is looking for its next sound, Tha Eastsidaz remind fans that the West Coast’s reign is far from over. Still Easty is more than a comeback; it’s a reminder that Tha Eastsidaz are still a powerful force in West Coast hip-hop.
