I’m High Have You Met Me? Canadian psychedelic R&B duo SPIRITSAVER release bold music video debut

Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated producer, Zale (Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Childish Gambino) and Nigerian-Canadian recording artist, Tajudeen have joined forces as the new psychedelic R&B duo SPIRITSAVER.

Zale’s impressive career began as a teenager signed and mentored by one of the most influential music producers of our time, Boi-1da. He was also mentored by producer-writer Stephen “Koz” Kozemeniuk (Dua Lipa, Dermott Kennedy, Kendrick Lamar). Zale’s extensive producer-songwriter catalog includes Grammy-nominations, a SOCAN Award and multi-Platinum certifications.

Tajudeen also brings a respectable resume to the duo. He has worked closely with legendary producers Cool & Dre, Boi-1da, Koz and more. His Nigerian influences help to shape his unique and memorable vocal tone. His afro-influences are highlighted on the outro of “I’m High Have You Met Me?” where Tajudeen incorporates lyrics in his native language Yoruba.

SPIRITSAVER have an ambitious monthly release schedule ahead. On Nov. 17, 2022, they will drop their second single, “Killing Us Slowly.” They have an extensive project of music that includes notable collaborators including the Grammy-nominated Kozmeniuk, Josh Cumbee, and more.

“This song is based on an out-of-body experience I had while using psilocybin,” says Zale. “The experience was a bit of rebirth for me and a metaphor for where we are creatively and professionally jumping into this new endeavor.”

SPIRITSAVER is the first signing to This is Your Brain On Plants, who are most famously known in the fashion community. Their last collaboration was an exclusive merch line with producer Mike Dean (The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Madonna) for his 4:22 release. The new music video for “I’m High Have You Met Me” was shot, edited and directed by the label’s founders Stacey Lee and Zale.

“The video was a bit of a happy accident,” recalled Zale. “We set up to shoot some promotional photos and vertical video content. The next thing you know, we’re driving backwards with Stacey shooting from out the sunroof of T on a bike, green screening and creating cartoon worlds.”

“I’m High Have You Met Me” is available now on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms.
