Today, Just John released “SLAYER,” depicting his process of shadow work and confronting the darkest rooms of his unconscious. Created in a period of isolation, “SLAYER” is another unfolding to Just John’s narration of his dreams that scare him most.
“I would keep to myself and focus on my reinvention,” says John of the new offering.
“I took a lot of time to figure out who I was and even longer to figure out who I was not. ‘SLAYER’ is a record about an aspect of my inner self dying. You can only count on yourself to be the slayer of your own demons.”
The supporting music video draws inspiration from films like The House that Jack Built, where Just John and director Justino sourced the same iconic van the visuals pay homage to.
“Justino heard the song and my passion about using shadow in the video and had the perfect concept of turning ‘SLAYER’ into a short film, drawing inspiration from some of our favourite thriller and horror films.”
“SLAYER” is a follow-up to “CARNAGE” and Just John promises an exciting 2023, fueled with unpredictability and genre-bending hits. The new single is available on digital stores and streaming platforms here via Unified Feel Inc.
