Trap Lore Ross on how “C-Murder Murdered a 16 Year old Fan”

Trap Lore Ross recently dropped a video looking back to when “C-Murder Murdered a 16 Year old Fan.” C-Murder, born Corey Miller, rose to fame in the 90’s as a member of No Limit Records, the record label founded by his brother, Master P. In 2002, C-Murder was accused of murdering 16-year-old Steve Thomas, and was sentenced to life in prison on August 14, 2009.

Despite the conviction, Miller has always maintained his innocence, and there has been recent some controversy casting doubt on his guilt. In 2018, two key witnesses recanted their statements, claiming pressure from authorities to testify against Miller. Despite these new findings, a judge denied a request for a retrial. This brings us to 2020, when Miller’s ex-girlfriend convinced Kim Kardashian to take up his cause and she took to social media not long after to show her support. In a series of tweets, Kim wrote:

“My heart goes out to the family of Steve Thomas. I can only imagine how hard this is and my intention is never to open up this painful wound but to help find the truth behind this tragedy.”

“#FreeCoreyMiller On January 18, 2002 a tragedy occurred when a young man was killed. The next day Corey Miller was arrested for the murder.”

“True justice for the young man requires that the person who actually killed him be held responsible and that Corey Miller he returned home to his kids.”

As you might expect, this didn’t sit well with the family of victim Steve Thomas, who lashed out with tweets of their own:

“Keep in mind you are speaking on a family who is not in a position to come on here and speak on the behalf of STEVE THOMAS!” wrote one family member. “How dare you speak his name as if you have some respect. Smh shame on you!!! Some things are better left alone. Let his soul rest in peace!!”

She followed with: “SOOOOOOO BOTHERING OUR FAMILY AND THE SLIGHT PEACE WE HAVE DOES WHAT FOR YALL?? RIDDLE ME THIS IF HE DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MY COUSINS DEATH WHO DID? Reveal that part!! Then go from there. Thankfully his [parents] will not be exposed to these posts smh.”

According to Miller’s Wikipedia profile: “In August 2021, Miller went on hunger strike to protest his conditions, which he feared would result in him getting COVID-19, and the status of his trial, saying he believed the district attorney had withheld evidence.”
