Xzibit To Drop New Single on Conor McGregor’s Label

TLDR: After a decade-long hiatus from the hip-hop scene, Xzibit joins Greenback Records, founded by UFC champ Conor McGregor, to release his new single “Play This At My Funeral” and upcoming album KINGMAKER.

Multi-Division UFC world champion, entrepreneur and entertainer Conor McGregor launched Greenback Records in July 2024, announcing his entry into the music business. Hip-hop icon and actor Xzibit has now joined the roster at Greenback Records alongside rap legends Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, furthering McGregor’s venture into the hip-hop genre.

Xzibit is set to release “Play This At My Funeral,” the first release from his forthcoming album, KINGMAKER on October 11th, 2024. This marks his first solo studio album in over a decade as he begins his partnership with Greenback Records.

Xzibit’s mainstream breakthrough came from his iconic guest verse on Snoop Dogg’s “B*tch Please,” a track produced by Dr. Dre. This memorable collaboration led to X’s invitation to join Dre’s Up In Smoke tour alongside hip-hop giants like Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem. Reflecting on the tour, Xzibit shared, “That tour was a turning point in my career. I was rocking capacity crowds in arenas across the world, and everyone was feeling what I brought to the table.”

Following this success, Dr. Dre produced Xzibit’s Platinum album, Restless, a project that solidified his position in hip-hop history. Xzibit went on to release legendary collaborations with artists like Eminem, Nate Dogg, Busta Rhymes, and Snoop Dogg.

Beyond music, Xzibit embraced acting with roles in films like Gridiron Gang and TV shows such as CSI Miami, Family Guy, and Empire. His dynamic career across entertainment has made him a household name worldwide.

After a decade-long break, Xzibit has returned to the studio. His new album, KINGMAKER, is a testament to his growth as an artist and a person. The project, executive produced by Xzibit, reflects his evolution while staying true to his hip-hop roots.

Conor McGregor, the owner of Greenback Records, is a 36-year-old UFC world champion and successful entrepreneur. In addition to his music label, McGregor has expanded his brand with ventures like Proper No. Twelve whiskey and Forged Irish Stout. Recently, McGregor also made his acting debut in the Road House remake, which has garnered over 50 million viewers worldwide.

You can find “Play This At My Funeral” on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms.
