Toronto artist Greezy Deckz teams up with TopNotchMusic for new “Clubhouse” anthem

Clubhouse, the invitation-only audio-chat social networking app which continues to rise in popularity, has a new theme song.

On Friday, Feb. 19, budding Toronto-based rap artist Greezy Deckz released his new “Clubhouse” single, produced by Calgary up-and-comer DJ Bacpac, who Greezy has been working exclusively with for his next project.

After joining a ‘music industry executive’ chat room on the Clubhouse app in Jan. 2021, Greezy was afforded the opportunity to play a snippet of the song for Marvyn Mack, a former Sr. Vice President at TVT Records. Within a few weeks, Greezy had signed a deal to release “Clubhouse” through TopNotchMusic, which falls under Ingrooves/Universal.

Aside from signing his first deal, the release also solidifies Greezy’s spot as part of the app’s already storied history.

“It feels like the timing was just perfect,” Greezy explained.

“I mean, technically, I just became one of the first artists ever to get signed off Clubhouse, which is something to be proud of.”

While grinding independently for the past several years, Greezy has shown an impressive level of growth, and a work ethic that few in his city can compete with. His 2020 campaign featured 15 individual single releases, two EPs and two full-length projects, all within one calander year. With the new deal on hand, Greezy has set himself up for 2021 to be his most successful year to date.

“Clubhouse” is a strong start to a much larger campaign that will rollout this year. More importantly, for the first time ever, Greezy has record label behind him which he is certain will propel his career forward.

“What this means for me is that I finally get to have a major push and my music distributed worldwide,” said Greezy.

“With the help of a label backing me, it gives me a real chance to make a good first impression as a signed act With my debut release, and future releases going forward. It means my music will reach audiences on a global scale rather than doing things independently. Right now, that’s the best situation and I’m not stuck in a 360 deal. So I still own my masters and can move around comfortably as a creative.”

While video support for “Clubhouse” is certainly in the plans, right now Greezy is focused on promoting the new single and maximizing the amount of exposure he can bring it. On top of recognizing his forward momentum, Greezy hopes the new song will inspire other Toronto artists to get creative when it comes to marketing their sound.

“I’ve been preparing for this opportunity my whole career, and have been working towards making this dream a reality for over 10 years. So, it’s a blessing to finally have a consistent way to provide for my family long term, and hopefully further inspire other local Toronto artists to think outside of the box when it comes to making a hit record based around a marketing tool like Clubhouse.”

“Clubhouse” is available now on all major digital streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.
