Ottawa-based media company CapCityHipHop has officially announced its debut single.
“Did It Myself,” featuring Calgary’s AK-Slim and Ottawa’s JAioftheRise, is the first of several new releases expected from CapCityHipHop this year, and is available now for pre-save.
CapCityHipHop launched back in 2012 and has grown into one of Ottawa’s top sources for new music and hip-hop coverage. With the release of the new single, the company is preparing for the first of many albums / compilations to showcase the talents of the National Capital Region, and beyond.
“Did It Myself” was mixed, mastered and produced by Vancouver’s ArazOnTheBeat, who has built up an impressive resume which includes work with Tory Lanez, Pressa, Killy, Northside Benji, and more.
The single is expected to drop on Friday, June 24th, along with an accompanying music video which was shot in each artist’s respective city.
Ben Telford Visuals shot the footage in Ottawa for CapCityHipHop and JAIofheRise, while Sadat R took the lead on the Calgary footage featuring AK Slim. The footage was then sent to Toronto mainstay, MyNameFrench, who is handling the editing.
You can pre-save / pre-order “Did It Myself” now on Apple Music, Spotify and other digital platforms. The video will make its debut on the CapCityHipHop YouTube channel, and we’ll also be sharing it right here on HipHopCanada.
