Memphis artist BlocBoy JB enlists Drake for Look Alive

Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB enlists Drake for his new single “Look Alive” produced by frequent collaborator, Tay Keith. The Fredrivk Ali-directed video has been viewed over 4 million times since its release on Thursday, and currently the #5 trending item on YouTube.

The Drake verse pays homage to Memphis rapper Project Pat and his 1999 debut album Ghetty Green. Drizzy borrows some lines from “Out There” including:

“If yo’ ass step, I’mma be down town mane
Fourth floor bound mane, that’s if I get caught mane
Pushed me to the edge, so it really ain’t my fault mane”
