Adult Swim announces OPUS, a Women’s History Month compilation coming March 31

Opus by Adult Swim

Adult Swim has announced Opus, an upcoming compilation of emerging female artists, set for a free streaming global release on March 31 in celebration of Women’s History Month. The collection amplifies the efforts of independent female artists from across a broad cross-section of genres and scenes, resulting in a musically diverse mix of genres including electronic, experimental, indie rock, hip-hop, and beyond. Much like last year’s Stimulus Swim mixtapes, Opus will include Bandcamp or other direct links to the contributing artists, in an attempt to encourage listeners to engage with or directly support any of the artists.

The release is entirely the product of female efforts, from conception, to curation, to the contributing musicians, and all the way to the cover art by Robin Eisenberg.

“Music has always been an integral part of the Adult Swim experience and we’re fortunate to have worked with so many talented female musicians though our popular Singles program and annual Adult Swim Festival,” said Tricia Melton, CMO of Warner Bros. global kids, young adults and classics group.

“Adult Swim is fiercely committed to originality and we’re proud to use our platform as a means to elevate these innovative musicians and showcase their talent to new audiences.”

The compilation is being previewed by a previously unreleased song from Brooklyn rapper Ms. Boogie. “Dicksciplined,” a raunchy club-ready trunk-rattler, awash with swirling synths and skittering hi-hats.

“To all my ladies out there,” states Ms. Boogie, “it’s possible to be dominated and di(ck)sciplined in the sheets yet still call the shots in the streets.”

Opus, a digital streaming-only compilation, will be released globally on March 31 from Adult Swim.
