Budding artist and producer Seth Dyer recently dropped off a new single that he co-produced with Taro Beats, who previously worked with Seth on the Dyer Days Season 2 project (“Ten”). The single previews his forthcoming album debut, Act One – Outcast, set to drop this summer.
Seth’s day job as a sound engineer helped inspire this latest release. When speaking about “Need Em,” Seth said:
“I was working at a studio as a recording engineer and there came a point where the people running the place wanted me to lock down in the studio, constantly record other people and forget about my own artistry. They definitely were offering me a good amount of money and I seriously contemplated the deal, but I’m an artist first and I have to put my music first, always. They made it seem like I needed them and that they essentially didn’t care much about how my own career went. They must have forgotten that I’m incredibly self-reliant and independent and I make things happen regardless of if I have the funds or not. I had to turn them down and, after that, I hit over 2 million streams on Spotify. I think I made the right decision. This is one working experience but getting the chance to work on music everyday is an amazing opportunity that I’m grateful for. ‘Need Em’ is just a lot of pent up aggression about a situation that eventually exploded onto a record.”
The vibrant new video for “Need Em” was co-directed by Seth and Chxrly Prince, with Focuzed Vision taking care of editing. The song is also available on several digital streaming platforms.
“With his upcoming project Act One – Outcast, Dyer steps away from the boards and promises to deliver a unique and inspirational body of work. It’s for anyone who has ever felt like the odd one out, overlooked, or can appreciate the truth of experience in music.”
