Tekashi 6ix9ine is back, but this time with a twist. His latest release, “Respuesta,” marks a shift into Spanish-language territory, featuring Cuban artist Lenier Mesa. The track, which sees Tekashi pouring out his emotions about his tumultuous relationship with Dominican singer and rapper Yailín la Más Viral, has fans talking—but that’s not the only reason the rapper’s name is making headlines.
On Thursday (August 29), the Dominican Republic’s Diario Libre delivered the latest in Tekashi’s ongoing legal saga. The Court of Appeals in the Judicial District of La Vega has issued an international arrest warrant for the Brooklyn-born rapper, declaring him “in rebellion” since June 2024. Reports from outlets like XXL and The Source confirm that if Tekashi doesn’t surrender voluntarily, he faces arrest in any country that cooperates with the order.
The warrant stems from an October 2023 incident in which Tekashi allegedly assaulted two producers. Their legal team recently filed a motion demanding his apprehension, pushing the court to escalate the situation.
With legal issues looming, it’s unclear how long Tekashi will remain free to promote “Respuesta,” which is now streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, and other digital platforms.
The song might be Tekashi’s answer musically, but his real-world problems seem far from over.
