Donation link created to support Bishop Brigante’s fight with cancer

A few days ago, we shared some tough news about a staple of the Toronto hip-hop community, and an artist we’ve been covering since the early days of our platform. On Thursday night, Toronto rapper, actor and entrepreneur, Bishop Brigante, revealed on Facebook Live that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

While speaking to his supporters, Bishop shared a message of hope and resilience and promised to confront the cancer head on. He also stressed the importance of people over 30 getting a colonscopy.

Bishop has been a member of the Canadian hip-hop community for quite sometime and has made an impact on the scene in a magnitude of different ways. From his music and acting careers, or previously being a host of King of the Dot, and more recently his journey into the fashion space with The Ends, Bishop’s story is nothing short of captivating.

It’s going to be a tough battle for Bishop, but the hip-hop community has already began to show up in force to stand behind him. HipHopCanada made an Instagram post about Bishop’s diagnosis a few days ago, and since then people from around the country have left messages of support and encouragment. Additionally, Canadian rappers, including Toronto’s Tona, have extended their solidarity. Tona shared a supportive message on his Instagram story and shared a donation link to assist Bishop and his family.

“MY DAWG @bishopbrigante THE FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE, DONATE WHAT YOU CAN PLEASE.”

The donation campaign for Bishop was created on the online payment platform, MoonClerk.

“I wanted to share this incredible opportunity to make a difference in Bishop Brigante’s life,” begins the description on the page.

“We have set up a donation link to support an amazing individual who is currently battling cancer. This brave soul has shown immense strength and resilience at the start of this journey, and now we have a chance to lend a helping hand. By contributing to this donation link, you have the power to support them financially, ensuring they can access the best supportive care. Every dollar donated will make a significant impact, providing hope, comfort, and the resources needed to fight this battle. Together, we can uplift Bishop’s spirits and make a meaningful difference in his life. Let’s come together as a community and show our unwavering support through this donation link where the funds will go directly to him. Your kindness and generosity truly can change this moment for the best.”
