South Park Season 27 Trailer Teases US-Canada War, Ketamine Chaos

After nearly two years of waiting, South Park is finally back—and it’s bringing the heat. Comedy Central just dropped the first trailer for Season 27, confirming a July 9 premiere date, and in true South Park fashion, it wastes no time diving headfirst into absolute mayhem. Planes are falling out of the sky, Butters is somehow in charge of air traffic control, Randy is fully embracing his ketamine era, and Diddy? Well, he’s in space. But the biggest bombshell? A full-on war with Canada.

Set to a haunting new rendition of “Blame Canada”—the Oscar-nominated anthem from South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut—the trailer hints that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are taking aim at U.S.-Canada relations, trade wars, and Canada’s fight for sovereignty. These themes feel ripped straight from the headlines, reflecting the political turbulence since Trump’s return to office in January.

Adding to the chaos, a group of beret-wearing Frenchmen is seen reclaiming the Statue of Liberty—a not-so-subtle nod to the European Parliament member who recently suggested the U.S. should return the iconic gift, arguing it no longer upholds the ideals of democracy and freedom. With South Park looking more unhinged than ever, Season 27 is shaping up to be a wild, politically charged ride through modern geopolitics.

While Parker and Stone have previously admitted they’re exhausted by American politics (“I don’t know what more we could possibly say about Trump,” Parker confessed), they’re clearly not done taking shots at global conflicts, celebrity scandals, and the general absurdity of the world we live in. If this trailer is any indication, South Park Season 27 is about to be another brutally hilarious ride through the headlines—and yes, there will be ketamine.
