Coming four days before what would have been his 22nd birthday, Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records are set to drop the second posthumously-released studio album by Brooklyn’s own, Pop Smoke.
Faith, which follows Pop’s 2020 chart-topping debut, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, was originally announced on June 4th by Pop’s manager, Steven Victor, CEO of Victor Victor Worldwide. On June 23rd, a Faith teaser, which features a motivational short speech from Pop Smoke, was released to YouTube.
The new album will feature the first new solo music from Pop since the February release of his single “AP” from the film Boogie. The video for the Rico Beats and 808 Melo-produced “AP” dropped in March and has been viewed just under 15 million times to date. Boogie featured the late rapper’s acting debut playing the character of Monk. “AP” is a reference to Swiss watch company Audemars Piguet. You can find out more info about the film at WatchBoogie.com.
More recently, Pop was featured on the F9: The Fast Saga (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) alongside Skepta, A$AP Rocky, Juicy J and Project Pat for “Lane Switcha.” The soundtrack also features RZA, Polo G, Teejay3k, Rico Nasty, Dixson Waz, and Sean Paul.
Faith is available for pre-save and pre-order here.
