No Jumper presents The Smiley Interview: Trapping in Toronto, signing to Drake, new album, people hating on his flow & more

“Smiley talks about his come up, streetlife, making bangers with Drake, weight loss and more!” – No Jumper

Montréal-born Toronto-rapper Smiley landed what he called “his biggest interview yet” with his new feature on No Jumper. The “Over the Top” rapper is currently promoting his new project, Buy. or. Bye 2, which is expected Oct. 22.

During the close to hour long exchange with host Adam22, the pair discuss a variety of subjects including Smiley’s Toronto upbringing, run-ins with the legal system, initially not taking music seriously, Drake showing love, Boi-1da, how “Over the Top” came to be, signing with OVO Sound, avoiding the street politics, getting hated on for his unique style, having the whole city behind him, his weight loss journey, Buy. or. Bye 2, and even more.

This is certainly one of the biggest opportunities fans have had to find out more about Smiley, and how he became the artist he is today.

The Tay Keith-produced “Over the Top” just recently cracked 51M streams on Spotify, and continues to put up impressive numbers weeks after its initial release.
