Drake & Nineteen85 win 2 Grammy Awards for “Hotline Bling”

UPDATE: In a what will definitely come as a surprise to some, Chance The Rapper beat out Drake’s chart topping album Views with Coloring Book to win Best Rap Album. Chance has also won awards for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance. This is the second year in a row that Drizzy has been nominated in the Best Rap Album category, and many considered him a sure bet to win.

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards are just getting underway but Drake already knows he’s going home a winner. It’s his Grammy wins since 2013 when Take Care took home Best Rap Album. This year, Drake’s “Hotline Bling” has already won 2 of the 4 categories announced before the live broadcast, with another 4 pending.

While not necessarily a good fit for the categories, “Hotline Bling” won Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Rap Song. The 2 wins were announced at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony and accepted by the track’s producer, Paul Jefferies aka Nineteen85.

The 4 remaining categories Drake could win in include Views for Best Rap Album and Album of the Year, and “Work” (with Rihanna) for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
