YouTuber CUFBOYS returns with another update on the ongoing YSL RICO trial. This time, he’s diving into the gripping Woody cross-examination, which turned day 118 into one of the most intense and explosive moments of this widely publicized and controversial case.
Monday’s proceedings focused on Young Thug defence attorney Brian Steel’s Woody cross-examination. Steel suggested that Lil Woody, real name Kenneth Copeland, only agreed to testify because he felt threatened by the state, though Copeland offered little response. Steel then turned to the state’s evidence, specifically interviews linked to the 2015 murder of Donovan “Nut” Thomas, in which Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, is allegedly implicated.
Steel questioned Copeland about Young Thug’s involvement, including the claim that he rented the car used in the murder and a lyric from the song “Halftime” that mentions Copeland. Copeland denied the lyric’s accuracy. The questioning also covered the music video for Copeland’s song “Homicide” and his social media posts.
Steel played clips of Copeland’s police interviews from just after the murder, during which Copeland said he’d heard that Thomas and his friends were planning to harm him on the day of the killing. Steel then pointed out that Copeland was charged with Thomas’ murder four months after the 2015 interrogation, which Copeland confirmed. When asked if Young Thug was also charged, Copeland said he didn’t know.

As Fox 5 Atlanta reported, “at one point during the questioning, Copeland became emotional and spoke about being in the Rice Street or Fulton County Jail, describing it as foul-smelling and chaotic, with people smearing feces on the walls.”
