Buckshot Allegedly Brutally Assaulted in Flatbush on Halloween

TLDR: Hip-hop legend Buckshot of Boot Camp Clik was allegedly assaulted in Flatbush, Brooklyn on October 31, with disturbing footage making the rounds on Twitter (X).

Hip-hop legend Buckshot, the face of Boot Camp Clik and Black Moon, was allegedly beaten in Flatbush, Brooklyn, on October 31, 2024. Known for his contributions to the East Coast’s golden era, Buckshot’s influence in the hip-hop community has been immense. The incident, however, has now left his fans and the music world rattled.

Footage of the attack surfaced on Twitter (X) and spread quickly, capturing the 49-year-old Buckshot, whose real name is Kenyatta Blake, in a bloodied and bruised state. In the video, Buckshot appears dazed, sitting on the ground as a passerby attempts to help. According to reports, the legendary rapper was later taken to a local hospital, where he received treatment before being discharged. The exact cause of the altercation remains unclear, although an unconfirmed source claims only one individual was involved in the assault.

A Facebook post from Sista Asia Wildenboar, a friend of the rapper, further fuelled concern. She shared an emotional message: “Please pray for BUCKSHOT OF BOOT CAMP CLIK HE WAS BEATEN HALF TO DEATH IN FLATBUSH NYC. MY HEART GOES OUT TO HIM.” Her words echoed the sentiment felt across the hip-hop community, with many fans and fellow artists reaching out in support.

Buckshot rose to fame in the early ’90s as part of Black Moon with DJ Evil Dee and 5ft, dropping the classic Enta da Stage in 1993. Known for gritty narratives and jazz-infused beats, the album is heralded as an underground masterpiece. Later, Buckshot co-founded Boot Camp Clik, a Brooklyn-based collective that solidified its place in rap history with a unique blend of streetwise lyrics and soulful production. Over the years, Buckshot’s contributions have left a lasting imprint on hip-hop, and his legacy remains influential.

While details of the assault are still unfolding, fans and supporters continue to rally behind Buckshot, hoping for justice and a swift recovery. For more on the topic, check out the commentary below from YouTuber PSA RELOADED.
