Unveiling the unpredictable: KOTD’s Blackout 8 brings mystery & mayhem to Toronto

On Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1, King of the DOT (KOTD) will be hosting the long-awaited eighth installment of their popular Blackout series. The event, which keeps match-up information under wraps until the day of the event, promises an unforgettable experience for fans. The stellar roster of elite talent taking part includes Bigg K, Illmac, Rum Nitty, The Saurus, Arsonal, Tricky P, Charron, MyVerse, MadFlex, Charlie Clips, Hollohan, A Ward, Geechi Gotti, Franchise, and even more.

Blackout 8 is set to feature two highly anticipated battles: Rum Nitty, the 2022 Champion of the Year, versus Illmac, a former KOTD champion and battle rap legend, and Compton’s own Geechi Gotti, making his first-ever Canadian appearance, versus Canadian battle legend, Hollohan.

KOTD, founded by Toronto’s own Travis “Organik” Fleetwood has received international recognition and attracted support from hip-hop heavyweights Drake, Method Man, Raekwon, and The Alchemist. They also received a huge shout-out from Eminem in the 2018 Royce da 5’9″ song, “Caterpillar.”

“Blackout 8 represents the essence of what King of the Dot is all about,” explains Organik.

“It’s about innovation, excitement, and pushing the boundaries of battle rap. We’re excited to be back in our hometown of Toronto, where it all began. The rolodex is loaded… mysteries will soon be revealed.”

The two-day extravaganza will unfold on September 30th at The Axis Club, located at 722 College Street, on Day 1, while Day 2 will take place on October 1st inside Adelaide Hall, situated at 250 Adelaide Street West, both nestled in the heart of downtown Toronto. Stay connected with KOTD on social media for updates, exclusive content, and behind-the-scenes clips leading up to Blackout 8.
