According to Kanye West’s manager Bu Thiam, his client and Drake’s relationship can be rectified, so long as Drizzy doesn’t go at him on the new album. TMZ caught up with Bu at LAX on Wednesday, and he claimed the pair’s relationship would be fine, but that it could change if Ye is targeted on Certified Lover Boy (which drops on Friday).
When asked about whether they’d ever make music together again, Bu said: “I mean, what’s going on? Listen, it’s two creatives taking jabs at each other, but they can rectify it, man. You know what I’m saying? I mean, we’ll see. His album comes out, I think, in a couple of days, Friday, so I mean, depending on what he says on his album, we’ll see.”
Whether they’re actually concerned about being mentioned on CLB or not, Bu’s answer is a good way to get Ye some free publicity for Donda with the CLB hype.
“As we reported, Kanye and Drake have recently been at each other’s throats, with Drake calling Kanye ‘burnt out’ and Kanye posting the address to Drake’s home in Toronto. Drake’s set to drop his highly-anticipated ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album Friday.
Bu tells us things are cool between Ye and Drizzy — but that could all change if Drake takes aim at Kanye in any songs on ‘CLB’ — where Kanye would almost certainly have to respond.”

The TMZ story also reported on Kanye’s relationships with disgruntled artists Chris Brown and Soulja Boy. Both artists had expected to be featured on Kanye’s new album, Donda, but didn’t make the final cut. Brown called Kanye “a whole hoe” on social media, and Soulja Boy challenged Kanye to a fight, insisting they’d make millions in the process.
Bu told TMZ that Kanye had reached out to Brown and they worked things out, but things with Soulja Boy seem to be still be sour.
“Bu says artist features get left off albums all the time, and it was nothing personal against Chris. However, Bu didn’t indicate that Kanye’s settled anything with Soulja Boy, who was also pissed about being dropped from the album … even challenging Kanye to a fight.”
Earlier today, Kanye released the video for “Come to Life” in support of his new album. Click here to stream Donda, and stay tuned for CLB dropping at midnight (Eastern Time).
