A Great Chaos: Ken Carson Drops the Video for “overseas”

Today, Ken Carson releases the highly anticipated video for “overseas” to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his critically acclaimed album A Great Chaos. The track made waves with over three million global streams on Spotify and Apple Music within its first 24 hours, marking Ken’s biggest streaming debut and earning his first Billboard Hot 100 appearance. Now certified Gold, “overseas” boasts over 123 million global streams and 500K TikTok creates, making it the top-streamed song in his catalog since its May release.

In the high-octane visual directed by Gunner Stahl, Ken Carson embarks on a vibrant journey through some of Europe’s most iconic cities – London, Paris, and Amsterdam. The video captures the intensity of the track with dynamic strobe and black light effects, featuring fast-paced scenes of cars speeding up and slowing down as Ken immerses himself in life overseas.

Released last October, A Great Chaos garnered success due to its innovative sound and Ken Carson’s distinctive style. With bold lyrics and experimental production, both the original track listing and the deluxe edition have made a significant impact. Notably, tracks like “Fighting My Demons” have achieved gold status, joining “Yale” from his 2020 EP Teen X and “Freestyle 2” from his 2022 album X. Hailed as “genuinely cool, risky, and relentless” and one of “The 100 Best Songs of the 2020s So Far” by Pitchfork, A Great Chaos debuted impressively at No. 11 on the Billboard 200.

It also won acclaim from industry giants like The New York Times, Billboard, Rolling Stone and Complex, was placed on several “Best Of 2023” lists, and earned praise from icons such as Jay-Z, Drake, J. Cole, Red Hot Chill Pepper’s, Anthony Kiedis, and more. In under a year since its release, the album has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Listen HERE.

This year Ken also made his debut Coachella performance, joined the iconic Red Hot Chili Peppers on their Unlimited Love tour, and most recently, made a huge splash at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash Festival. There, he not only delivered a memorable solo set but also joined the rest of Opium signees on stage with Playboi Carti for the first time. This summer, Ken launched his highly anticipated Chaos World Tour, kicking off on July 8th at the Warehouse at CFF in Orlando, FL.

The sold out North American leg featured standout performances, including two electrifying nights at Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall on July 20-21, a thrilling three-night engagement at Terminal 5 in New York City from August 20-22, and a memorable hometown show at the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta on August 26. Ken Carson recently wrapped up the UK/EU leg of his tour and made his highly anticipated return to the US this week, kicking things off in North Myrtle Beach. He will be making 25 more stops across the country before concluding in Sacramento on the 21st. Tickets are available HERE.
