Pooh Shiesty and Big30 Accused in Gucci Mane Kidnapping Case

TLDR: Federal prosecutors allege rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30 were involved in the kidnapping and robbery of Gucci Mane during a Dallas studio meeting. Defence attorneys dispute the claims as the case unfolds.

Federal prosecutors have filed new allegations against Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty, Big30 and seven co-defendants in connection with an alleged kidnapping and robbery involving Gucci Mane. Authorities say the incident took place during a January meeting at a Dallas recording studio.

The case centres around what authorities describe as a business dispute that escalated into violence. According to Complex, prosecutors allege the group traveled to Dallas for what was supposed to be a meeting, but instead “resorted to violence and intimidation” in an attempt to resolve contract issues. The criminal complaint refers to the victim as “R.D.,” widely understood to be Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Davis.

Authorities claim Shiesty, born Lontrell Williams Jr., forced the victim at gunpoint to release him from a business agreement. Prosecutors also allege that others involved stole valuables from multiple individuals inside the studio.

The allegations extend beyond just Shiesty. According to Complex, prosecutors claim Shiesty acted as a “ringleader” alongside eight other men, including fellow Memphis rapper Big30. Authorities allege the group took jewelry, watches, cash, and other valuables, including items bearing the 1017 Records branding.

Defence attorneys, however, are pushing back. Shiesty’s lawyer told The Dallas Morning News that “things are very often not what they seem,” arguing the government’s portrayal of the incident may not reflect the full story.

Additional defence statements have also surfaced. According to TMZ, attorneys for Big30 insist their client only went to the studio to record music and plans to plead not guilty. The lawyer also suggested the dispute may have stemmed from contract tensions between Shiesty and Gucci Mane.

Meanwhile, court proceedings are already unfolding. Big30 was briefly granted bond before the decision was stayed, leaving him in custody while prosecutors argue he should remain detained.

With nine defendants now facing serious federal charges that could carry life sentences, the case is expected to continue developing in the coming weeks. For more information, check out the video from Law&Crime Network below.
