Not Like You: Merkules enlists Hopsin for the latest big collaboration

Surrey, British Columbia rapper Merkules continues to build on the cult-like fanbase that has been supporting the hardened lyricist since day one. He’s had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the biggest legends in the game, with no shortage of big names appearing on the Merk Mondays series he’s been running lately. This includes artists like Too $hort, Twista, KXNG CROOKED, The Game, E-40, and even Bone Thugs-n-Harmony for “Homicide” back in April.

His latest single, “Not Like You,” enlists LA-native Hopsin for passionate fiery flows, over a heartfelt melodic chorus. The track features production by C-Lance, mixing and mastering by Nato Down and Terry Tran, as well as an accompanying visual powered by Lyric Vids.

“Cause I remember eating hot-dogs and macaroni
Now it’s twenty thousand a show when I’m in California”
– Merkules

The track was initially teased on June 28th via Merkules’ Instagram page, hyping fans with the caption, “You Guys think you’re ready? @Hopsin.” Things then went silent on the release until July 5th, when Merk unexpectedly released the song without warning.

Merk and Hopsin have previously worked together on tracks such as “Bass” (featuring Strange Music’s Tech N9ne) in 2019, as well as “On Tha Road” (featuring Grotesque) in 2013. “Not Like You” is currently trending at #18 for Music on YouTube and has already garnered more than 28K likes and over 350K views in just a matter of days. There’s also a ton of reaction videos from fans who seem to be really feeling the release.

“Not Like You” is HipHopCanada’s Song of the Day. You can check out the track on Spotify and other digital streaming platforms via Merkules Music Inc. You can also find the song on our official Spotify playlist, Canadian Fresh.
