Aside from “Toronto Icons,” featuring a reunited Ghetto Concept, the Ras Kass and Cyndi Cain-assisted “Mr. Evans” was one song off Coach Fresh that definitely needed video support.
The Godfather of Canadian hip-hop, Maestro Fresh Wes,/strong>, connects with a West Coast legend while Cain, who comes from Halifax, sets the tone with her vocals and ad-libs. “Mr Evans” was produced by veteran Toronto beatsmith, LordQuest.
“Canada’s Godfather of Hip-Hop, Maestro Fresh Wes, brings us another classic banger. This time dealing with the importance of the black father in the lives of their children and the attack on the black father by the media. Collaborating with West Coast legend Ras Kass, the song’s message is timely, powerful and universally applicable as both MC’s spit bars dealing with cultural awareness and the importance of restructuring the BLACK FAMILY.”
