Vancouver artist Kresnt releases the Rumi album

Budding Vancouver-based artist Kresnt is back with his second official project to drop in the past four months.

The newly released Rumi album follows Rumi’s Reflection which dropped in May and charted number 2 in Canada and got all the way to number 1 in Turkey.

The young Afghan-Canadian hip-hop artist has been promoting his catchy NXSTY-assisted single for “Arab Money,” which is already one of his most popular tracks to date. As a whole, the mood of Rumi caters to fans who appreciate strong lyricism mixed with banging 808’s. The 9-song record has a consistent theme of using word play and punchlines, with clever double meanings peppered throughout its lyrics.

One of the strongest components of Rumi is the all-star lineup of producers Kresnt work with to bring the album to life:

There’s Ken Lewis, who has worked heavily with Kanye West, Eminem, Drake, Rick Ross, Wu-Tang, BTS and many more superstars. We posted Kresnt’s Lewis-powered “Remember Way Back” a couple of months ago, and originally expected to see it on the Rumi track listing.

Bangullure, who has had production with Jive Records singer-songwriter K. Michelle.

NXSTY, who is featured on “Arab Money,” has worked with A$AP Mob and has had his music played by some huge names including The Chainsmokers, Skrillex, Ekali and several other notable EDM acts.

Kresnt also worked with his in-house production team Nani Beats, who are also credited as Executive Producers on the album with Kane Dabir.

Additional production credits include Licka Rish, The siinergy, Westy and Audio Drugz.

Kresnt plans to use proceeds for the album to help the people of Afghanistan:

“Proceeds from my album will be going directly to Afghans of North America. A virtual community organization that assists widows and orphans within Afghanistan.”

You can find the album now on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms.
