TLDR: Day 22 of the Diddy trial took a surprising turn as Kanye West was blocked from the courtroom, causing delays and raising new concerns over trial security.
Day 22 of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial unfolded today at the The Southern District of New York federal courthouse bringing a wave of impactful testimony, legal maneuvering over juror integrity, and an exclusive celebrity incident that caused a late start to proceedings.
Emotional Testimony from ‘Jane’
Under continued cross-examination by defence attorney Teny Geragos, the prosecution’s key witness—known only as “Jane“—became visibly emotional while reading personal text exchanges between herself and Combs. In one message, she professed “unconditional love”; in another, she acknowledged living with “trauma.”
Jane testified that during a heated altercation, she shoved Diddy’s head into a marble countertop. In response, he called her “crazy,” and she retorted by calling him a pedophile. Shortly afterward, she alleged that Diddy punched her in the face twice. She reaffirmed previous claims about “freak-offs”—drug-fuelled, group-sex encounters allegedly arranged by Combs—which she described as emotionally manipulative and degrading.
Jane testified that during a 2024 trip to Las Vegas, a “superstar” rapper and his wife asked her to help arrange a male escort for a private gathering. She recalled the night beginning with dinner and a visit to a strip club, followed by a hotel meetup involving the couple and others—where sex with escorts ultimately took place
Prosecutors plan to call additional witnesses and expect to rest their case by June 20.

Prosecutors Seek to Remove Juror #6
Federal prosecutors filed a motion to dismiss Juror #6, citing a “lack of candour” during jury selection. They allege the juror failed to disclose information that could impact impartiality.
Diddy’s legal team pushed back hard. Lead defence attorney Alexandra Shapiro called the request “a thinly veiled effort to remove a Black juror,” accusing the government of racial bias. Judge Arun Subramanian has requested formal written arguments from both sides and is expected to rule on the motion by the end of the week.
EXCLUSIVE: Kanye West Barred from Diddy Trial
HipHopCanada has exclusively confirmed through an anonymous source that Kanye West and his partner arrived at the courthouse this morning intending to observe the trial. However, prosecutors stopped them from entering the courthouse, citing concerns about security, decorum, and potential witness intimidation.
The situation delayed the start of the morning session, according to our source. The court has not commented publicly, but the incident reflects growing sensitivity around celebrity presence during a trial already under intense public scrutiny.
