Yesterday, Paramount Pictures offered a first look at their highly anticipated new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated film.
Produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was first announced by Nickelodeon back in 2020, and since then there’s been very little to chew on in terms of cast details, or a guarantee that the film would ever see the light of day.
But that all changed today with the release of a highly promising trailer and a August 4, 2023 release date. There’s already a ton to be excited about including what appears to be incredible casting by Rich Delia.
Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shannon Brown Jr. (Michelangelo), Nicholas Cantu (Leonardo), and Brady Noon (Raphael) have been cast as the iconic Turtle bros, and there’s also Ice Cube (Superfly), Post Malone (Ray Fillet), Paul Rudd (Mondo Gecko), Rose Byrne (Leatherhead), Hannibal Buress (Genghis Frog), John Cena (Rocksteady), Giancarlo Esposito (Baxter Stockman), Maya Rudolph (Cynthia Utrom), Ayo Edebiri (April O’Neil), and even more. They’ve even got Jackie Chan on board as the voice of Master Splinter.
“From permanent teenager Seth Rogen, a new generation of heroes will rise…from the sewers … In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”
