The guys from the NFR Podcast take a look at the rollout for the Certified Lover Boy album dropping at midnight. If you haven’t been on social media lately you might have missed it, but Drake billboards for CLB have to started to pop up in different cities. They’re giving fans a sneak peak on who to expect alongside Drake on the album.
Each billboard features a simple message (and CLB branding) informing residents that one or more of the their hometown artists is featured on the new album. This tactic has left fans debating over who the list will consist of, but some of them are more obvious than others.
That said, a billboard raised in New York City says “HEY NEW YORK THE GOAT IS ON CLB” has many people thinking Jay-Z will reconnect with Drizzy for a “Light Up” part two, but the Barbz are convinced it’s in reference to Nicki Minaj. There’s a ton of online discussion about the album and what to expect from it, so the marketing is doing its job.
So far, there’s billboards referencing Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, Lil Durk, and others. They’ve appeared in Atlanta, Chicago, Memphis, NYC, Los Angeles, and more.
