Yung Filly Arrested in Australia on Rape and Assault Charges

TLDR: British rapper and YouTube personality Yung Filly, real name Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has been arrested in Australia and charged with rape and assault. The 29-year-old is accused of multiple counts, including sexual penetration without consent, after an alleged incident in Perth.

British rapper, YouTuber, and television personality Yung Filly, known for his infectious energy and charismatic presence, has found himself entangled in serious legal trouble. The 29-year-old, born Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was arrested in Brisbane, Australia, and has been charged with multiple counts of rape and assault. The arrest came while Yung Filly was on tour, with the alleged incidents taking place in Perth after a nightclub performance on September 27.

The charges levelled against Barrientos include four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault, and an additional charge of impeding a person’s breathing by applying pressure to their neck. The case took a chilling turn during a magistrate court hearing, where prosecutors presented images of the alleged victim’s injuries. Yung Filly, who appeared at the hearing, confirmed his identity but remained silent on the allegations, leaving his legal team to question the strength of the prosecution’s case.

Barrientos, originally from Colombia and raised in South London, is a popular figure across multiple platforms, amassing millions of followers on TikTok and YouTube. Known for his collaborations with fellow YouTuber Chunkz on The Chunkz and Filly Show, he’s a multi-talented entertainer whose music career has also garnered substantial success. Earlier this year, his single “Grey” spent nine weeks on the UK charts and racked up over 63 million streams on Spotify.

Though granted bail under strict conditions, including remaining in Western Australia and avoiding social media posts about the case, Yung Filly faces a long legal battle that could derail his rising career.
