Real Life: Exploring Life’s Journey Through Markus Banks’ Debut Album

Haitian-born Canadian recording artist Markus Banks capped off his 2023 campaign with a New Year’s Eve release of his album debut, Real Life.

The 10-track Real Life demonstrates Banks’ skill in transforming life’s challenges into musical harmony. Every song reveals a segment of his experiences, a poetic narrative that connects with individuals who have overcome adversity.

“The Real Life album is a compilation of different musical influences and vibes from my experiences from around the world,” Banks explained in a recent email exchange.

“We try to showcase diversity and a love for hip-hop/rap culture and an overall musical expression with stories from the gritty street life to celebrating passions and dance.”

With Real Life, Banks, a father of three, presents genuine storytelling and heartfelt lyrics which is building his fanbase up at a steady pace. He’s already opened for industry heavyweights such as Ice Cube, Meek Mill, and Tyga, with electrifying performances that have really highlighted his ability to command a crowd.

Real Life features guest appearances by Young Kazh (who has been featured numerous times here on HipHopCanada), KxK, IG, and Chris.

As Banks begins working on his next album, you can take in his debut on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms.
