In this recent video, YouTuber Trap Lore Ross aims to provide a deeper understanding of tragic events that have engulfed the streets of Memphis since the murder of Young Dolph in Nov. 2021.
Ross breaks down the circumstances surrounding the Jan. 2024 murder of Big Jook, the brother of Young Dolph’s biggest rival, Yo Gotti, and how the situation continues to escalate between warring factions in Memphis.
The video, which was published on Ross’ secondary YouTube channel (Trap More Ross), does a great job explaining the history between Dolph’s Paper Route Empire label, and Yo Gotti’s own Collective Music Group (CMG), and how the beef kicked off in 2014. Gotti wanted the relatively new Dolph to partner up with his CMG, and Dolph decided not to do it. Instead of working together, the two rappers basically kicked off a longstanding feud over who was the true King of Memphis—the title of Dolph’s studio album debut.
