Canadian artist Sty-Low (aka Mister D.O.P.E.) recently had cause for celebration when his 2019 video for “Rid’n & Vib’n” cracked one million views on YouTube.
“Rid’n & Vib’n” was directed by The Knemesis, and shot by Toronto-based film company, Makethefilms. Knemesis was also responsible for shooting Sty-Low’s video for “Unbreakable” which was released in March of 2017. While “Rid’n & Vib’n” has reached an especially impressive milestone on YouTube, the single has also faired quite well on DSPS like Spotify and Apple Music.
Sty-low, a rapper, singer and producer whole hails from Toronto, defines himself as being “all about making good music with a meaning.” As an artist, he makes a point of not using profanity in his lyrics and keeps his subject matter away from violence and drugs, or any negativity. He’s admittedly, and noticeably, influenced by the 90’s west coast sound—people like Dr. Dre , DJ Quik, DJ U-Neek—and has developed a low toned yet energetic/fast rap style which he’s named “Whisper Roar.”
You can find “Rid’n & Vib’n” on Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms.
