New to the scene is 24-year-old Ottawa recording artist Shubz, who made his debut back in June 2022 when he released his first single “Gone.” The Cyril Swayz-directed video for the song has racked up just under 10K to date, and really sets the tone for the quality of material Shubz is bringing to the table.
The latest offering—”Don’t Let Me Go” produced by MutoBeats—sees Shubz traversing across Morocco, Africa with a lady, while visiting cultural landmarks. Shubz then embarks on a solo mission, four-wheeling, smoking shisha with friends, and is even seen walking a camel across the Sahara desert. Shubz hopes to capture his audience with his unique sound and Moroccan culture.
“This record means a lot to me,” says Shubz of the single. “The countless hours and work needed to create this project is a reflection of my passion for the art of music. I have never traveled before and to travel and work on my art is something I’ve only dreamed of since I started writing music.”
“Don’t Let Me Go” was engineered by Laquil, an engineer originally from Ottawa who now resides in Toronto and LA. Some of his past credits include Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, Rich The Kid, Roy Woods, OVO and Jazz Cartier, to name a few.
“Don’t Let Me Go” was directed by SIP Entertainment. You can find the single on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms via AV Records.
