Shoebox Baby and Lil Reese have joined forces for the new single and video, “Dayvon Bennett.”
Dayvon Bennett, better known as King Von, was a budding rap star from Chicago, Illinois. Born on August 9, 1994, he gained popularity in the drill music scene and was closely associated with fellow Chicago rapper Lil Durk. Known for his vivid storytelling and gritty lyrics, King Von’s music often reflected his experiences growing up in the tough neighbourhoods of Chicago.
Tragically, his life was cut short when he was shot and killed during an altercation outside an Atlanta nightclub on November 6, 2020, at the age of 26. Despite his early death, King Von’s influence in rap and his reputation as both an artist and street figure continues to be widely discussed and celebrated in hip-hop culture.
You can find “Dayvon Bennett” by Shoebox Baby and Lil Reese on SoundCloud.
Both Reese and Shoebox Baby last released something official to DSPs back in June. Shoebox Baby released “Hood Surfing,” and Lil Reese released the Tay Savage and Kill Bill-assisted “Instant Kill.”
