After over 120 shows in 9 countries, pop-rap-funk-electro trio Random Recipe are not done celebrating the release of their most recent effort, Distractions. With a busy summer ahead of them and about twenty shows all over Quebec, Chile, Peru and Western Canada, the Montréal group is proud to unveil their explosive and high-spirited new single: “ANXT.”
What could be better to kick off the summer than a perfect song to ease our anxious minds? After “Fight the Feeling” and “Out of the Sky” —two dancefloor bombs that Frannie, Fab and Liu-Kong dropped last year -Random Recipe were eager to present this third single, produced in collaboration with Marie-Hélène L. Delorme (FOXTROTT) and Philippe Brault. Sung in English and Spanish, “ANXT” reflects on our habits of holding on to certain events that affect us. The song delves into these moments when we find ourselves on the cusp of losing control while trying to overcome adversity.
This third single from Distractions—which made its way onto Broad City’s soundtrack—continues to spread the band’s powerful message in Europe, where it was featured in Zalando’s latest commercial (Europe’s biggest online fashion retailer). CHANEL also recently used the hit single “Out of the Sky” in a commercial).
There’ll be a ton of opportunity to see Random Recipe performing on Canadian soil, with the first Canadian date being July 2 in Terrebonne, QC for Toit du TVT. There are several dates in Quebec, including two shows in their hometown of Montréal. West Coast fans will also have a chance to see them live, as they’re scheduled to perform at the Surrey Fusion Festival on July 20 before heading to gigs in Vancouver and Victoria. They’ll also be making two appearances at the Calgary Folk Music Festival on July 27 and July 28.
